...and here we are again! Schools and universities are about to start and I thought this was the perfect moment to write an article for all our lovely students.
I've been using the Bullet Journal method for 5 years now and not only it made my professional and personal life much more organised and productive, it helped me to gain a better lifestyle in general. This is why, I wish I knew about it when I was a student.
Unfortunately, I am well out of university, but despite this, I'm always studying new things and I realised that a bullet journal is a unique tool to learn better, smarter and faster.
Whether you’re a school or university student, I think everyone should use a bullet journal, and in this article I explain why.
I also wanted to give you with something special, so be sure to read until the end for an exclusive surprise for our students community.
Why You Should Use Your Bullet Journal for School or University
The Bullet Journal is a tool that combines productivity, organisation, mindfulness, and self-care. These are aspects and skills you'll need now that you are a student, as well as for the rest of your life.
Let’s look into the 5 reasons why you should use a Bullet Journal for School.
1. Bullet Journal For Time Management
The Bullet Journal method was created by Ryder Carroll a personal tool to manage time. Carroll wanted something analogue and simple to use to organise his schedule, and created the bujo. The best part of it is that the fully customisable method allows you to schedule your time depending on your exams and other deadlines.
2. Bullet Journal to Stay Organised
As a student you have lots of things to remember. Not only the lessons, but also all your class times, schedules, assignments, group meeting and much more. With the bullet journal, you can keep track of everything in one notebook.
3. Planning doesn't need to be boring!
The word "planning" is boring right? I thought the same before starting my first bullet journal back in 2017. Since then, the 10 minutes I take at the end of the month to plan ahead are a blessing and a special moment to connect with myself and take time to check where I am at and create something unique for the following weeks.
4. Overview Of Your Progresses and Studies
In your bullet journal, you can create a 2-page spread that show your academic year at a glance. You can organise your pages to show the courses you have to take, the assignments you have to complete, your credits and everything else you want to keep track of.
5. Make Space for the rest of your life (beyond school!)
I remember that when I was still a student, I thought my entire life depended on my grades and my exams. It took me quite a while - and leaving uni well behind - to understand that there is so much more to life than your student years. This doesn't mean that this time is irrelevant, not at all, but make sure you take care of yourself while you are a student. Learn to look at yourself as a complete human being, not just a student. A mood tracker or a health tracker is great to keep you updated on what's going well and what you need to improve in your life.
The thing I love the most about using a bullet journal is that it adapts to me and my lifestyle. Every month and even week is different from the previous and the following one, because my months and weeks are different, and my bujo reflects that.
